Alan Cook was born in Australia and studied music in Melbourne. Interestingly, Alan also has guest conducted various orchestras in Ukraine and Russia. His visits to Russia received attention from the media since he speaks fluent Russian and has interest in the Russian music. Back in Australia he is happy to conduct Melbourne Chamber Choir in a concert of the Tchaikovsky 9 Sacred Pieces and other Russian Orthodox music at a very appropriate venue - the Russian Orthodox Cathedral.
