Barnaby Joyce has resigned as the leader of the Nationals and deputy prime minister of Australia

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten is calling for changes in how the deputy prime minister is determined in a Coalition government following Barnaby Joyce's planned resignation from the position. Mr Joyce has announced he will step down as National Party leader on Monday, (feb 26) opening the way for a new deputy prime minister.
