Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church opening on Crete island this week was supposed to become the first meeting of heads of orthodox churches of the whole world in the last 1000. For more than 50 years the agenda of the Counsil was discussed by the interorthodox preparatory commissions and meetings. However last Monday the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) after several other local churches - Bulgarian, Antioch, Georgian and Serbian supported the call to postpone the Great Counsil because, according to hierarches of ROC, there is no consent of heads of all conventional local or autocephalous orthodox churches to participate. We have asked the Mitred Archpriest, father Michael Protoроpov to comment on reaction of Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia to refusal of the Moscow patriarchy to participate in Great Council of the Orthodox Church
