Last week the sporting world was stunned by the news that President Vladimir Putin has signed an executive order graning the Russian citizenship to Australian two-time world champion in cycling Shane Perkins. Now Shane will be able to represent Russia at the international competitions and in September will compete as a member of Russian national team at the European championship. The SBS Christophe Mallet asked Shane Perkins about the reasons of his decision to change his citizenship, which some in Australia have already called defection.
