The National Sorry Day is held on 26 May each year. It gives people the opportunity to show support towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their families and communities. On February thirteen 2008, The Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd, apologised to Australia's Indigenous peoples, the Stolen Generations and their families.After eight years since the apology Living Black producer Kirstyn Lindsay spoke to Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd about the national apology, why he made to decision to go ahead with it and reparation process for Stolen Generations.
