Belarus Free Theatre has become a regular guest in Melbourne and this time will present the Australian premiere of Generation Jeans. As co-founder and director of Theatre Nicolai Khalezin explains, the idea to create the provocative synergy between an actor and DJ was born from his own life story in the dying stages of former Soviet Union. Of course, the deep association of Rock Music with Freedom is nothing new, but to bring Denim in this equation was purely Soviet Phenomenon, very powerful at the time. And Nikolai is convinces that ideas of the play are quite current for contemporary Belarus.
