Journalist Anna Politkovskaya gained popularity with her tough publications about the war in Chechnya causing outrage not just in Grozny, but also in Moscow. Within 7 years from Politkovskaya's murder there were two trials but the investigation managed to find and sentence only the executors. Till today the criminal who ordered her murder has not been found.
