Oz International Film Festival presents the Australian premiere of the award winning documentary Operation "Wedding". It tells a true story about a group of young Soviet Jews lead by Edward Kuznetsov and Sylva Zalmanson in 1970 plotting to hijack an empty plane to escape from the USSR. Seized by the KGB just a few steps from boarding, they were subjected to a chilling show trial, while the whole world watched. All of them received harsh sentences and two were sentenced to death but later received a lighter sentence of 15 years in the labour camp. 45 years later filmmaker Anat Zalmanson-Kuznetsov reveals the compelling story of her parents in the Operation "Wedding" and we caught up with dissident, writer and journalist Edward Kuznetsov who now lives in Israel
