Travel through history: why ANZAC is a truly national day

More than 100 years 25th of April has been the bank holiday in Australia. On ANZAC Day Australians across the country commemorate those who served, those who fought and those who perished in the Australian and New Zealand forces. But over time the significance of the day has extended to those who were on the opposite side of the battles. Now ANZAC marches on the 25th of April are open to all former Australian servicemen and servicewomen and their descendants. We look back at the history of the day.
