It is known that Australians and New Zealanders have long history of mocking each other. Quarrels happened even about the national flag. But more often they are just playful disputes about sport or nationality of Russell Crowe. The argument who has after all invented the Pavlova cake was going on for many years. However, according to the latest research the well-known dessert was thought up in the USA and moreover, was based on the German recipe!
