With Ambassador of Russian Federation in Australia Grigory Logvinov we discussed the preparation for the Presidential elections on 18th March in Sydney and Canberra. Mr. Logvinov is happy with the voter turnout for the early elections in other states which was higher than last time and he is convinced that Russian citizens in NSW will be able to cast their vote securely. He has also expressed some frustration by the continuous conflicts between the organisations within the Russian community and also with the Embassy. On the topic of the British ultimatum to Russia in conjunction with the poisoning of Sergey Skripal the Ambassador expressed the hope that Australian officials will adopt a more restrained approach and promised an appropriate response to the editorial articles published in The Australian, blaming Russia for the incident.
