Another world record was set by the Russian adventurer Fedor Konyukhov. This time Fedor took up the hot-air balloon sport and stayed in the air together with his companion Ivan Maniaylo for 32 hours and 20 minutes. The previous record was set in 1993 by an American pilot William Bassi and was 29 hours and 13 minutes. Oscar Konyukhov, Fedor's son, told SBS about the preparations for the round the world trip from Australia.
