Every year there is less and less witnesses left to the World War II which brought horror and destruction to all people , irrespective of whether they were in the army or not. We would like to record their memories of the war years because the reflection of global cataclysms by the historians often regard ordinary people as insignificant, but the big history is made out by small stories. War has become a common biography for the whole generation of children. Vera Yakovleva, who was 12 at the time, remembers Moscow of 1941-45
