Leaders of the Commonwealth State and Territory governments will meet for the annual COAG this Friday. One of the items to be discussed is parole laws around the country in the wake of the siege in Melbourne where a man named Yacqub Khayre shot another man dead and took a woman hostage. He was later shot dead by police. Khayre, like Man Haron Monis the gunman in the Lindt cafe siege, was on parole at the time he committed the crimes.
