Coalition torn on same-sex marriage

The Liberal Party is in disarray over the issue of same-sex marriage. Many opponents of same-sex marriage in the government are still pushing a plebiscite saying it was the policy the Party took to the country in the last election. A group of backbenchers are arguing against a plebiscite, favouring a parliamentary vote. The plebiscite was rejected by the Senate last year.
