The US Senate has acquitted president Donald Trump at his impeachment trial.

There was always little chance of president being impeached on abuse of power and misleading Congress. The impeachment trial was at the Senate where the Republicans hold a majority. The charge of abuse of power stems from an allegation that president Trump asked Ukraine's president Zelensky to conduct an investigation into the activities of Democrat candidate Joe Biden and his son in Ukraine.
