Europe encouraged to go it alone

The meeting of G7 countries has ended with German Chancellor Angela Merkel warning European leaders they could no longer rely on the US and Britain. US president Donald Trump has been roundly criticised for his full frontal and at times abrasive approach to other members of the G7.
