Euthanasia legislation or the Assisted Dying Bill has passed the lower house of the Victoria parliament.

After a marathon 26-hour debate, the Assisted Dying Bill has passed the lower house of the State parliament of Victoria.  The Bill will become law in Victoria if it passes the Legislative Council.  The law will allow people over 18 years of age who are terminally ill, in severe pain and with less than a year to live, the option of assisted dying.  Premier Daniel Andrews was one of the strong supporters of the Assisted Dying Bill.
