Nearly 900 people have been killed and thousands made homeless after Hurricane Mathew wreaked havoc on Haiti.

"As of this afternoon, there were 60-thousand-plus people in shelters. As far as the number of homes, a number of homes have been destroyed-- again, there's a count taking place as we speak, and damaged homes, I think that is where the most issues happened because many homes were not destroyed per se, but the roofs were thrown away due to the intensity of the wind at the time the hurricane was going through."
