A 50 year-old Iraqi refugee is the oldest student sitting HSC in NSW this year. Hekmat Alkus Hanna was a doctor, a general practitioner in Mosul but since he fled and sought asylum in 2012, the father of three has been unable to practice his profession without proof of his qualifications - the University he studied at is now a war zone.
