They're not your big budget blockbusters. But some of the films from countries like Samoa, India and Vietnam are getting rave reviews from Australian cinema-goers. Samoa's Tusi Tamasese's film One Thousand Ropes has been well attended especially by Pacific Island cinema-goers around Australia and many have praised its raw and honest depiction of domestic violence in Pacific communities.
