The Ministry of Education in Samoa has called on all primary schools to ensure that children have proof of vaccination before they get enrolled in pre-school classes.

This is the first year that pre-school classes are attached to primary schools and are no longer run as separate entities. The requirement for proof of immunization comes after a measles epidemic struck Independent Samoa last year killing more than 80 people.
