Same-sex marriage determined via a postal plebiscite.

For the second time, the federal government's bill to hold a plebiscite on same-sex marriage has been defeated in the Senate. The issue will now be decided via a postal plebiscite which is not a compulsory vote and non-binding on the parliament. The postal ballot will be conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and will cost around $122million.
