Samoa's prime minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has criticised local media for what he calls Monday to Sunday reporting on incest and other sexual offences in his country.

During his weekly interview with government-owned Radio 2AP, Tuilaepa says he is so sick of the over-reporting of incest and sexual crimes against young women in Samoa, he's ordered the TV to be turned off whenever such stories are broadcast. He also says it gives outsiders the impression that such crimes are common in Samoa, which he says is not the truth.
