Pasefika immunologist, Dr Chris Puli'uvea and his Maori colleague, virologist Dr Natalie Netzler, have been awarded the Cranwell medal for excellence in Science communication. They were instrumental in facilitating community forums and explaining in Pasefika languages and Maori the complex medical terms and procedures during the height of the COVID pandemic. Dr Chris Puli'uvea spoke to us about his research interests and the need for a comprehensive multilingual medical dictionary for Maori and Pasefika language.
