1 in 5 women suffer from perinatal depression, many not getting the help they need

Part of this year's election campaign was discussion about health funding, and how much attention and funding is being given to perinatal anxiety and depression, that is symptoms that occur before, during or after a woman gives birth. With government pledging to increase funding, what exactly are the signs and symptoms, and where can young parents turn to for help? Sofija Petrovic spoke to the PANDA organisation for perinatal depression, as well as Beyond Blue, and Dr. Steve Kinsley, doctor and psychiatrist at the University of Queensland.
