A call to action in Serbia amidst ongoing refugee crisis

Organisation NorthStar Serbia was founded in 2015 as an emergency humanitarian aid agency that would help thousands of passing refugees gain access to basic needs, such as food and water. As the EU policies began to change, and borders around Europe started to close.Refugees passing through the once transitory country of Serbia, found themselves stuck. With many of Serbia's 3,500 refugees entering their third year in the country, their needs are shifting to education and a focus on rewening a meaningful everyday life. Jessica Collins, co-founder and director of NorthStar Serbia collaborates with both local and international workers and volunteers to help put displaced kids back in school, and offer adults a second chance at starting new.
