The Australian-Serbian Organisation for Professionals or ASOP, was founded as a not for profit in Melbourne, in 2013. And while the organisation is based in Melbourne, the organisation's president, Nikola Mijatović, says they now have branches in Sydney and Perth. The organisation hopes to soon set up a branch in every capital and major city in Australia.

In 2013, a group of ANZ Bank employees had a vision to gather together everyone in the company that had some connection or relation to Serbia, through culture or family heritage.

It began as a small, informal gathering that soon spread to include members out of the banking industry. As the number of members grew, so did the need to acknowledge the project on a more serious level.  ASOP was registered under Victorian law as a formal, not for profit, organisation.

Joining the program to tell us more about member numbers, long term plans and ASOP events were president Nikola Mijatović and vice-president, Katarina Bužanin.
