An international team of investigators has determined missiles were driven into eastern Ukraine from Russia before one of them downed Malaysia Airlines flight M-H 17 in 2014, killing all 298 people aboard. Australia's air safety regulator has rejected claims that changes around the rules governing drone use will put public safety at risk. New laws coming into effect today are designed to reduce red tape and lower costs for drone operators. Treasurer Scott Morrison has defended charging travellers an extra $5 when they leave Australian shores to help pay for a compromise reduction in the Turnbull government's controversial backpacker tax.
