The Australian government is planning to launch an app that will trace contact between mobile phones in a bid to automate coronavirus contact tracing, and allow the easing of restrictions.


The app has left Australians divided with some citing privacy concerns. Federal minister and member of the Nationals party, Barnaby Joyce, has announced he won't be downloading it. So what does the app do and is it safe?
