Dragan Vasiljkovic, 62, better known as Captain Dragan, was found guilty on Tuesday after a year-long trial in Croatia. The three-judge panel found Vasiljkovic guilty of torturing and beating imprisoned Croatian police and army troops and commanding a special forces unit involved in the destruction of Croatian villages. He was also found responsible for the death of at least two civilians. Belgrade lawyer Dragan Palibrk was not a part of the Vasiljkov's defence team of Croatian lawyers Sladjana Cankovic and Luka Susak but he was his legal advisor. In an interview for SBS Serbian he confirmed that he had visited Vasiljkovic in his detention cell in Split and that he will appeal a Croatian court's 15-year jail sentence for war crimes in the 1990s.
