The Australian Christian Lobby's Canberra office has been rammed by a van reportedly carrying gas bottles overnight. Conservative MP Cory Bernardi is reportedly preparing to split from the Liberal Party, with his Australian Conservatives group promising a "massive 2017". Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has commended the shadow cabinet team supporting federal Labor leader Bill Shorten. More Australians are abandoning overseas trips for holidays closer to home. A survey has shown spending by domestic tourists hit an all-time high of nearly $60 billion in the last year.
