This year the Queens Birthday Honour List recognised a very important name in the world of physics. Dr. Olivia Samardžić, Group Leader of Electro-Optic Electronic Warfare at the Department of Defence, and found of the South Australian Space School, received a Public Service Medal for her contribution to fields of STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Born in Novi Sad, Dr. Samardžić moved to Australia when she was a small child. Dr. Samardžić spoke to Sofija Petrovic about the inherited talents, the unwavering support, and of course, the hard work, that helped her forge a very distinct path in the world of physics.
