In May this year, Dragan Veselinović touched down at Belgrade's international Nikola Tesla Airport, but it didn't take him long to break down the city walls and head into the wilderness.
Starting his journey along the river Morava, in the south western part of the country, Dragan says he experienced a side to Serbian culture and nature he never knew existed. Views that rivaled those on the cover of every famous travel magazine inspired Dragan to start a blog documenting his journey, through writing and photos, hoping to inspire generations to get on board with his mission.Young or old, Serbian or not, Dragan insists that beyond the three major cities in Serbia, Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš, are experiences that can be had no where else in the world.
"See the major cities, but expand your horizons," says Dragan. "There are so many canyons, so many gorges, we did a few hikes and ended up at the natural borders of Bulgaria and Romania. Go beyond just the captitals and the festivals."
