The final FSP Featured Poets at Halifax Cafe for 2016. are Peter Goldsworthy & Jan Owen with Ana Nedeljkovic-Brankovic as a special guest. Jelena Dinic will host this multi-lingual mix of poetry and music to finish off the best season yet!

Ana Nedeljkovic-Brankovic

 

completed her Masters in Music at the University of Belgrade. As a soloist, she has nurtured and honoured the vocal traditions of the Balkans. While in Serbia she coordinated/directed singing groups who performed a repertoire of traditional Balkan songs. In Adelaide, she has established both male and female singing groups performing Serbian folk songs.

 

Peter Goldsworthy

 

has won literary awards across diverse genres, including the 1982 Commonwealth Poetry Prize, the 1988 Australian Bicentennial Poetry prize, the FAW Christina Stead Award for Fiction, and a Helpmann Award, with composer Richard Mills, for the opera Batavia. His 1995 novel Wish was rereleased in the Text Australian Classics series, and his 1989 novel Maestro as an Angus & Robertson Australian Classic. His most recent book is The Rise of the Machines and other love poems (2015).

 

Jan Owen

 

is a writer and translator who runs monthly poetry workshops in Aldinga Beach. The Offhand Angel, her seventh book, was published in London by Eyewear Publishing in 2015. Her translations from Baudelaires Les Fleurs du Mal, published in 2015 by Arc Publications, was long-listed for the American National Translation Award. She received the 2016 Philip Hodgins Memorial Medal.
