Serbian Jelena Jankovic defeated yesterday Julia Görges in Melbourne Park in straight sets 6:3 6:4. Svetlana Kuznetsova, the eighth seed awaits. Jankovic said she still saw herself as a contender. She had the experience, and the self-belief, and hoped for the necessary luck.
