Punctuated with letters from one particular intrepid traveller "Letters from Abroad" will present songs of life, love, jealousies, loss and lament. Ensemble Anja & Zlatna is known for its beautiful melodic lines and complex rhythms from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and beyond. This production is part of the Local Heroes 2016 series. In 2016, Local Heroes presents 19 acclaimed ensembles, with 44 concerts in the award-winning acoustics of Melbourne Recital Centre. Anja Aker tells us more.
