Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is in Tokyo today for annual leaders' talks with his counterpart Shinzo Abe. Mr Turnbull says security will dominate the one day visit, given the North Korean nuclear threat and China's maritime assertiveness. The Prime Minister says he and his Japanese counterpart will also discuss ways to revive the stalled Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal.

A new poll by Canberra-based think tank, The Australia Institute has found that more than half of those surveyed (56 per cent)don't mind what date Australia Day is held on.

The poll also found that 49 per cent of those surveyed believe Australia Day should not be on a day that is offensive to Indigenous Australians
