Serbia men's water polo team is going to face Spain in Rio quarters, Serbia men's basketball team is through to Olympic quarters and Serbia women's basketball team beats Senegal, to face Australia.
The world's greatest ever sprinter, Usain Bolt, wants to take on new 400m world record-holder Wayde van Niekerk over 300m.
After winning his third successive 100m Olympic gold, Bolt who is also chasing another gold in the 200m, said he would love to race van Niekerk over the compromise distance of 300m.
Bolt is the 100m and 200m record-holder and, on Sunday night in Rio, South African van Niekerk set a 400m record of 43.03 seconds.
"That would be a good one, that would be a good race," Bolt said.
"This year I was hoping I would be in good shape when my coach told me they were going to put on a 300m [at a grand prix meeting]. I wasn't in the best of shape but I really really wanted to be in that race.
"Hopefully next season, if he is in good shape and my coach puts the meet on again, I get a chance to run. I would really like to compete against him over 300m; that would be good."
Bolt said his coach had always argued that the 400m would be his best event and that he would break the world record in the 400 because he had pace and stamina. He had always resisted running the single lap race.
After the 1996 Olympics, the 100m gold medallist Donovan Bailey and the 200m and 400m winner Michael Johnson raced over 150m to decide who was the quicker.
Bailey won that race after Johnson injured his quadriceps mid-race and didn't finish, leaving the idea of who was quicker slightly unresolved. Bailey was leading when Johnson pulled up.
