The Belgrade National Museum will be hosting the 19th Archaeology Film Festival from 22 - 29th March. The People's Republic of China is the honorary guest of this year's festival, and 39 films from 13 countries are included in the program.

Documentary film "On the Trail of Imperial Palace - Project Glac" by Slobodan Maksic will be shown at the Festival.

"Movie is talking about the Australian-Serbian archaeological project “Vila Rustika Glac” near Sremska Mitrovica (Serbia). Floor mosaics, frescos as well as marble, porphyry and other luxurious materials discovered in Glac confirm archaeologists’ hypothesis that it is the location of Roman emperor Maximian Herculius’s summer palace as they assumed. It is clear from the beginning that this is the project of great importance. Everything indicates that it will bring epochal archaeological discoveries as experts engaged in Glac excavations expect," says the archaeologist and the head of the Serbian team in Glac, Stefan Pop Lazic for SBS Serbian

The films mostly bring news from the world of archeology , in the form of reports, but also educational films that represent important discoveries, as well as the exceptional achievements of ancient civilizations.

Film achievements have been shown at prominent European festivals of archaeological film, such as the Festival in Rovereto in Italy, Irun in Spain or in German Kilo.

As in previous years, the films are distinguished by their high scientific quality and innovative approach to cultural heritage, thus enabling not only experts, but also all interested visitors to get acquainted with the latest archaeological research in the world and in our country.
