"17th Serbian Film Festival this year will open at Hoyts Sunnybank in Brisbane on Friday 24 November, followed by Monday 27 November openings at Hoyts cinemas in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Fremantle. "Out of the Woods" is the opening night film directed by Marko Kostic. In an exclusive interview to SBS Kostic said he is very happy that his movie will be presented to the Australian public ....

Out of The Woods is an emotional story which follows 60 year old woman who  leaves urban life and goes to live in a village to take care of her grandchildren whose parents now live in America. There she faces lots of financial hardships as the family doesn't send any money, and tries her best to provide all for their happier childhood.

Stojanka’s daughter and son-in-law emigrated to America; she has not had any contact with them for over four years. They do not send any money to help her raise the grandchildren. However, Stojanka is resourceful and she earns money telling people their fortune by reading coffee cups, massage and rabbit hunting.

Although born and raised in the village, Stojanka no longer fits into the life patter and is always in confrontation with neighbours and other people in the village.
