Police reach out to Somalian community after Bourke Street attack

Victorian police have promised to act on any targeting of Muslim communities in the wake of this month's deadly Bourke Street knife attack in central Melbourne. Senior officers have revealed women wearing hijabs have been abused in public following the attack by a Somalian-born man. Police have also played down suggestions the attacker was solely motivated by what has been reported as "Islamic extremism."
