Bringing together a new body of 30 works the exhibition explores windows set alongside personal and cultural contexts as well as associations drawn from immediate environments. Both artists employ strong use of colour and light. Jill's artworks evoke a reality of nature and draw on spiritual inspiration, whereas Mirjana draws on initial inspiration from overseas travel, using the window as a lyrical form calling for a hint of recognition and intuitive vision.
Both Jill and Mirjana have captured the essence of a number of local windows from Geelong icons and have used their studio environments to create a strong and recognisable body of work. Different mediums and surfaces have been employed to best depict their chosen subject enhance each work. http://www.artwintergarden.com.au/index.php?page=october-16-news
