Roma population in Serbia continues to occupy an unenviable place in Serbian society as the most disadvantaged and marginalized national minority. They are faced with a unique set of intractable obstacles that continue to hamper their development, ranging from lack of access to the most basic amenities such as adequate healthcare, primary education and welfare benefits to barriers in accessing the labour market.
