Now in its 16th year, the Serbian Film Festival has brought over 100 Serbian feature and documentary films to Australia, and this years program looks to be one of the best yet.

The opening night film is A Stinking Fairytale, directed by Miroslav Momcilovic. A melodrama centred around two people who have renounced all their earthly needs (except the need for love), this is the first movie that Serbian export Zarko Lausevic has filmed in his home country after living overseas for years.

Peter Kozlina, the Sydney-based director of the Serbian Film Festival, will be in attendance to open the festival, as will popular Belgrade-based actor Milos Timotijevic. Also screening at this years festival are The Black Pin, directed by Ivan Marinovic, and Double Trouble, directed by Rados Bajic.
