Australian Ambassador to Serbia, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Montenegro Julia Feeney has opened the exhibition "Sergeant Olive Kelso King-An Australian in the Serbian Army" on Monday 5th December at the Maritime Museum in Kotor.

The exhibition captures life and work of Sergeant King, a pioneering and fearless woman, who became a volunteer ambulance driver during the First World War, spending a significant time in Serbia.

Her story is extraordinary not only because she served with the Serbian Army during the First World War but because was also instrumental in organising substantial humanitarian aid to Serbia and Montenegro after the war ended. She is also known for establishing mobile canteens in Kotor and Herceg Novi.

The exhibition is open to the public from 5-15 December 2016.
