Professor Radmila Tonković is a pioneer in many segments of aviation, which is her greatest passion, as well as her chosen career field. She is the first female aviation journalist and the first female aviation editor in the Balkans.


She has been writing about all world events in civil, sports, and military aviation and air traffic for years now. She has published over 1000 articles, coauthored on 12 books, and authored three books - "Life Made by Flying", "Tadija Sondermayer", and "Sky Heroines of the World", which has already been declared a unique world encyclopaedia.

In 2012, Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), Lausanne, awarded Prof Tonković the "Paul Tissandier Diploma" for her life’s work in the field of aviation.

This Diploma, established by the FAI in 1952, is named after Mr. Paul Tissandier, Secretary General of FAI from 1919 to 1945. It shall be awarded to those who have served the cause of Aviation in general and Sporting Aviation in particular, by their work, initiative, devotion or in other ways.
