Sport: Tokyo focus for defeated Boomers

At the basketball World Cup the Australian Boomers went down to France in their bronze medal match.


The 67 to 59 defeat ended Australia's hopes of winning a first ever medal at a major tournament.

It followed a heartbreaking double overtime loss to Spain in the semi final.

Reigning champions the USA finished the tournament seventh after winning a final classification game against Poland.

And Spain Argentina went on to win the gold medal, defeating Argentina 75-95.
