As Pacific Islands leaders meet this week, a new report details a surge in calls for medical intervention for refugees and asylum seekers -- including children -- at Australia's immigration-detention centre on Nauru. The Federal Government has consistently denied allegations the detainees are not receiving adequate medical treatment. But a joint report by two refugee and asylum-seeker advocacy groups has looked at the impact of Australia’s offshore-detention policy on both refugee children and adults detained on Nauru over the past six years.
