During an afternoon at a Samara Fifa Fan Festival Park, our colleague Zoran Subic was not counting the number of goals Serbian and Australian teams have scored in the World Cup but the number of kind words and smiles he has collected from Russian hosts. "Very few of them speak English but the language barrier has not stopped Russians and thousands of foreign football fans from mixing on the streets of Samara, despite conflicting messages to Russian politicians from around the world" he said.
